In their MMK Administrators Soccer League match at the Levubu Rugby Field on Sunday, Tshakhuma Na Ndilani FC collected three valuable point at the expense of Shayandima Power Stars. They beat Stars 3-2.
Tshakhuma Na Ndilani, or TNN, took the game to the visitors from the onset, giving their defenders no time to breathe. It took TNN only three minutes to open their account. Their centre forward, Prince Lekgau, hooked in the ball after a rebound.
The goal was a wake-up call to the players of Power Stars. They regrouped from behind, making things difficult for the home side through their defence-splitting moves. They found the equalizer in the 18th minute. Their fast forward, Rialuvhuwa Ratshilumela, was brought down within the box. The referee awarded a penalty to Power Stars and Simon Makhado scored from the white spot.
Power Stars scored their second when Pfarelo Lifhiga hit the back of the net with a neat header, following a scramble within the box. Lifhiga was reprimanded with a card for dangerous play in the 40th minute.
TNN approached the second half aggressively. In the 54th minute, they found the equalizer when Fhatuwani Mudau blasted in a rocket after a square pass from Desmond Netshiungani. TNN strengthened their striking force by replacing their diminutive striker, Ndamulelo Mukwevho, with Nthangeni Muluvhu. Power Stars introduced Ndivhuwo Mahwasane for Ndivhuwo Tshihume in the 65th minute.
TNN took the lead in the 74th minute. Desmond “Danger” Netshiungani caught the Stars’ keeper, Rendani Manngo, napping and blasted in a ground cutter from the edge of the box. TNN played defensive football for the remaining part of the game.
