Leopards take remaining matches to Malamulele

THOHOYANDOU – Black Leopards will play all their remaining home matches at the refurbished Malamulele Stadium.

According to the club’s brand manager, Tshifhiwa Thidiela, their decision to play their remaining matches at the new venue is a fulfillment of the promise they made earlier this season.

Thidiela revealed that they had promised the supporters at the beginning of the season that they would stage five of their home matches at the Malamulele Stadium this season. That, according to him, was a clear indication that they were committed to take the game to the people.

He stated that they could not switch five matches to the Malamulele Stadium as promised because the venue was being renovated during the past months. “We were only notified about the completion of the renovation process last week and unfortunately we are left with three home matches at this stage,” said Thidiela.

The first match to be played at the new venue will be against Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club. It will be played next Saturday, April 9, starting at 15:15. Leopards’ three remaining home fixtures are against Lamontville Golden Arrows, Ajax Cape Town and Manning Rangers Football Club.

They have the same number of away fixtures. Their first away match will be against Jomo Cosmos and will be played at the Rand Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday. Their other two away matches will be against Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows.

Thidiela revealed that they will also look at the possibility of taking some of their home matches to the Makwarela Stadium once it is completely refurbished. Malamulele Stadium was inspected by the PSL inspectorate crew recently and found to be meeting all the requirements.
