Brave Lions fined for not protecting referee

THOHOYANDOU – Heavy fines were imposed on several clubs affiliated to the Sibasa District Football Association (Sidfa) during the league’s disciplinary committee meeting that was held last Saturday.

Tshidimbini Brave Lions were found guilty of failing to provide adequate security to the referee in their match against Badirammogo Peace Makers Football Club.

The match official officiating the game, Mr Avhapfani Sihwili, was severely assaulted during the match. Brave Lions were fined an amount of R1000, of which R300 was suspended.

Tshiomvani T Bone Steak caused direct abandonment of their game against Muhuyu XI Experience. A fine of R600 was imposed on them, apart from the fact that they had forfeited the points for the match in question. Ngwenani Manchester United failed to produce the players’ identity cards in their match against Tshiomvani T Bone Steak. They were found guilty of that and were ordered to pay a fine of R200. Manchester forfeited the points for the match. Mushungwa Try Again were found guilty of causing the abandonment of their game against Luvhimbi Wanderers. They were ordered to pay a fine of R100 and forfeited the points for that match.

Malavuwe Great Movers failed to honour their matches against Tshaulu Powerline and Manyini Masters Football Club. They were ordered to pay a fine of R250 and forfeited the points for the two matches. Malamangwa Flying Swallows forfeited the points for the match they should have played against Mutshili Citizen Stars.

Swallows chose not to honour the match and a fine of R150 was imposed on them. Tswera Hot Chillies failed to provide adequate security for the referee in their match against Mavunde United. They were fined an amount of R700 and forfeited the points for the match.

More cases will be heard when the committee sits again tomorrow.
