Tshilwavhusiku Razwimisani Special School excelled in the recent games of the Vhembe Special Olympics 2015, which were held at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
Tshilwavhusiku Razwimisani first beat Hayani 7-0 and then they beat Grace and Love 5-3. In the final, they beat Risongoneta 4-3.
The coach, Mr Mpho Lishivha, said that the boys “proved to us and everyone at the stadium that they are the best in the district. They remain a motivated team of winners.”
The team received a soccer kit, a trophy and a ball for their achievement. “We are happy about the new soccer jersey,” said Boldwin Siphei (16). “It will motivate us to work even harder now.”
On the girls’ side, the school played against Nhlovo and beat them 1-0. They beat Grace and Love 1-0 in the final. The team’s captain, Tshimangadzo Siphali (20), said that they didn’t know they would win this year’s leg of the Vhembe Special School games. “But we are hard workers,” she said. “We know we are the best, and out of the best team only comes the best!”
She thanked Mr Lishivha for training and coaching them on a weekly basis at the school.
Tshifhiwa Given Mukwevho was born in 1984 in Madombidzha village, not far from Louis Trichardt in the Limpopo Province. After submitting articles for roughly a year for Limpopo Mirror's youth supplement, Makoya, he started writing for the main newspaper. He is a prolific writer who published his first book, titled A Traumatic Revenge in 2011. It focusses on life on the street and how to survive amidst poverty. His second book titled The Violent Gestures of Life was published in 2014.
