Cash prizes for Mulfa teams

The prizegiving ceremony of the Mutale Local Football Association (Mulfa) will take place at the Big Tree Lodge at Zwigodini village tomorrow (Saturday) morning.

The prize money of R100 000 will be distributed to the 49 teams affiliated with the association last season.

According to the chairman of the association, Mr Ntodeni Mulovhedzi, the winners from the four associations'  Super League Streams, Tshisimani Top Challengers, Musunda United Brothers, Musunda Northern Topio and Thengwe Flying Peace, played in their champ-of-champs matches last month in a bid determine the overall champions. The overall champions, Tshisimani Top Challengers FC, will be receive R6 500 and a floating trophy, while the second-best side, Musunda United Brothers, will take home R5 500. The other two teams, Musunda Northern Topio and Thengwe Flying Peace, will each receive R4 800.

The teams that obtained the second position in each stream will become R3 500 richer, while the teams that finished from the third to the ninth position will receive cash prizes ranging from R3 000 down to R1 000, while the remaining teams from each stream will each take home R900.

The ceremony is scheduled to start at 10:00.
