Mighty Powerlines tops in Nemakonde

Tshaulu Mighty Powerlines were crowned the 2015 Boy Nemakonde KO competition champions during a glittering ceremony that was held at the Copa-Copa Hotel outside Halambani village last Saturday evening.

Powerlines were presented with a cash prize of R10 000, a floating trophy, six soccer balls and two soccer kits during the ceremony.

The runners-up. Begwa FC, took home a cash prize of R1 200, two soccer kits and six soccer balls. The third-placed Lukalo Hotspurs received R600, two soccer kits and six soccer balls. The coach of Tshaulu Mighty Powerlines, Mr Nkhetheni Bohwana, was nominated the best coach of the tournament.

He was presented with a shopping voucher to the value of R1 000. The Powerlines’ goal poacher, Alson Baloyi, received two awards during the ceremony. He took home the best player of the tournament award and shared the top goal scorer award with Khethekanyo Nemudzivhadi and Norman Mbedzi, both of Begwa FC. The trio scored four goals each in the tournament.

Baloyi was given a shopping voucher to the value of R1 000 for being the player of the tournament. The three top scorers received R400 each.

The team which demonstrated the spirit of fair play throughout the tournament, Begwa FC, was presented with a cheque of R1 000 during the ceremony.

During the ceremony, the sponsor, Mr Boy Nemakonde, revealed that he will continue to sponsor the tournament in the years to come.
