Hat-trick for Killer Maake against Magau United

Sport  Date: 31 July 2015

The striker of the Benny’s Care junior team, Killer Maake, scored a hat trick in his team's 3-1 victory over Magau United in their Limpopo Dairy league match at Tshiozwi on Sunday.

It took the referee, Mr Mendula Sadiki, ten minutes to flash the first yellow card. Rabelani Madima of United obstructed Lekgora Matlou just outside the box. United missed a fortune in the 17th minute. Their centre forward, Khuthadzo Tshikunwana, could not believe his eyes when his volley hit the woodwork and landed outside the field of play for a goal kick.

Rabelani Mpfumadi's close-range ground cutter then missed the goal mouth by inches. Benny’s gained momentum with time and controlled the match. Killer Maake opened the score line in the 38th minute.

Benny’s came close to scoring again three minutes in the second half. Hulisana Sandani unleashed from the left corner, but the ball crossed to the other end as there was no one inside the box to give it the final touch. Khodani Mufhadi of Benny’s was also booked for an unlawful tackle. He tackled Phumdzo Seleka from behind in the 56th minute.

Benny’s snatched their second goal in the 65th minute. Maake connected a chip and beat the keeper. United reduced the margin in the 69th minute when Phumudzo Seleka scored after a beautiful pass from Mbulaheni Malange. He unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box and beat the keeper of Benny’s, Freddy Matiya, easily.

The last 20 minutes of the game was a war in the true sense of the word. United were threatening to find the net, but the solid defence of their opponents denied them a goal. Killer Maake then beat three defenders for his third goal.
