MT Green Mambas beat Mudaswali United Brothers 3-2 in their losers’ final of the Mulindavhathu Soccer Challenge at the Khubvi Tshiseluselu grounds on Sunday. United Brothers were down and out in the first half. Green Mambas capitalized to take a 3-0 lead when the proceedings for the first half came to an end.

Mambas' Rastafarian striker, Lawrence Mudzanani, received a brilliant pass from Thomas Matodzi inside the penalty box in the 11th minute and beat the keeper with a ground cutter.  Instead of using that as a wake-up call, Brothers continued to make silly mistakes within their own danger area. Mambas increased the margin in the 24th minute. Mudzanani was on target again, following a clearing error by Brothers’ right back, Lawrence Nkhanedzeni, just outside the box.

Pressure continued to mount on the Brothers’ defence and Mambas scored their third goal nine minutes before the referee, Mr Christopher Mugeri, blew the half-time whistle. Itani Sikhipha finished off Rofhiwa Nekhumbe’s square pass to bring the half-time score to 3-0.

United Brothers rectified their mistakes and started to play like a team in the last half. They pulled one back in the 57th minute. Their overlapping midfielder, Hulisani Netshiomvani, was on target after a scramble within the box. Mambas became more defensive, but it did not stop Brothers from scoring their second goal through Zwanga Tshivhengwa late in the game.
