Four important matches in the Amos Charity Shield Soccer Tournament will be played this weekend. Two matches will be played at the Tshakhuma Mulangaphuma grounds tomorrow (Saturday), while the other two will be staged at the Tshisimani Campus grounds on Sunday.
Tshakhuma Na Ndilani will test their strength against FC KK in what promises to be a thriller. KK are in top form after collecting maximum points in their opening match last Saturday. They beat Tshakhuma RO United 2-1. It will be a matter of life and death to Tshakhuma Na Ndilani, or Makhurabada as they are affectionately called.
It will be the third match for Tshakhuma Na Ndilani, while FC KK will be going for their second hurdle. Makhurabada lost their opening match against Maweja Takers 0-1, before beating Tshakhuma Peace Makers 0-1 last Sunday. The match is scheduled to start at 13:00, while Takers will take on Tshakhuma Peace Lovers at 15:00.
Sunday will see Tshakhuma RO United rub shoulders with Tshakhuma Peace Lovers at 13:00. Peace Lovers must keep a close eye on the United playmaker, Elvis Netshidongololo, or else they will be severely penalised. Peace Makers will pin their hopes on their left-footed striker, Zwanga Muvhango, for goals.
The pace setters, Maweja Takers, will have a date with FC KK later in the afternoon. The Takers’ strikers, Khumbudzo Muvhango and Mashudu Makhari, will give the KK defence tough times if they are not well contained.
The top two teams at the end of the round-robin stage will meet in the final next Saturday to determine the champions. The champions will take home R10 000, a floating trophy, soccer kit and gold medals. FC KK are the defending champions.
