Tshikhwani Stone Breakers gave Vleifontein United a day to remember when they hammered them 10-0 in the Spring Tournament at the Tshikhwani grounds on Sunday.
United played the first 10 minutes of the game without two men, as two of their regular players arrived late for the game. Breakers capitalised and scored their opening goal in the ninth minute of the match through Andani Mashau. Two minutes later he was on target again.
Lufuno Musekwa of United was booked for a late tackle on Zwanga Mashau in the 17th minute and soon thereafter Marubini Mushukwa of Breakers scored his team's third goal. He dribbled past three defenders in a row and unleashed a ground cutter.
United should have reduced the margin, but their lethal striker Khathutshelo Mathatha's shot landed in the keeper’s hands. Lehlonono Tseli also shot straight to the keeper three minutes later. Rendani Maduwa was on target again in the 64th minute and finished off a square pass from Rotondwa Mashamba.
Breakers' fifth goal came in the 68th minute, when Freddy Mushukwa finished off a square pass from Sukanani Netshukwi. United used two of their substitutions during the first half. Their introduction of the new faces, however, did not change the complexion of the match.
Marubini Mushukwa won the loose ball and beat the keeper with a close-range ground cutter in the 74th minute, and two minutes later, Rendani Maduwa hit the back of the net after receiving a square pass from Rotondwa Mashamba. Marubini Mushukwa scored in the 76th minute and Freddy Mushukwa and Rendani Maduwa also scored late in the match.
