Teams affiliated to the Amos Shield Soccer Tournament will play their final round-robin matches this weekend. The matches will be staged at the Tshakhuma Mulangaphuma grounds tomorrow.
FC KK will try their luck against Tshakhuma Na Ndilani in the opening match, which is scheduled to kick off at 13:00. It will be a matter of life or death for both FC KK and Tshakhuma Na Ndilani, or TNN as they are commonly called. The winner in the match will secure a place in the final.
Should they play to a draw, FC KK will be through to the final. FC KK have deposited six points into their league account to date, while TNN have four. Should TNN win the match, they will move to either the top or second position on the log, depending on the result of the match between Maweja Takers and Tshakhuma Peace Lovers. The fact that FC KK are the defending champions is reason enough for TNN to expect a real war.
FC KK are still in shock after losing 1-2 to Maweja Takers at the Tshisimani Campus grounds last Sunday. TNN drew 1-1 with Tshakhuma RO United at the Malaria grounds last Saturday.
Maweja Takers will meet Tshakhuma Peace Lovers later in the afternoon. Peace Lovers have only pride at stake as they are already out of the race to the final. Peace Lovers’ playmaker, Zwanga Muvhango, will watch the game from the sideline. He saw red in their game against FC KK last Saturday.
Peace Lovers are still to win a match to date. They lost 0-3 to FC KK at the Malaria grounds last Saturday. As if that were not enough to dent their image, Peace Lovers again lost 1-2 to Tshakhuma RO United at the Tshisimani Campus ground the following day. Maweja Takers need at least a draw to secure a place in the final.
In the U/13 matches that will also be played at the same venue tomorrow, TNN Academy will play against Tshakhuma Peace Lovers, starting at 10:00, while Shooting Stars will meet Gobo Stars two hours afterwards.
