Muraleni United Brothers went through to the final of the Heritage tournament when they beat Westdy 2-1 in front of a capacity crowd at Gogobole on Sunday afternoon.

It was evident from the start that United were going to the finals as Westdy were outclassed in all departments. Westdy, however, opened their account first. In the ninth minute, their all-rounder, Killer Nedzamba, was on target, following a neat pass from Mpho Mavhandu. The team from Muraleni came close to scoring in the 24th minute, but they held onto the ball for too long within the Westdy’ danger area and eventually lost possession.

United gained momentum with time.Their equliser came in the 36th minute. Bashin Livhalani made no mistake after receiving a pre-cooked pass from Zorro Mukwevho. The score at half time was a 1-1 deadlock.

United introduced Nyathi Netshiendeulu and Mashudu Nengovhela for Godwin Mahuwa and Melton Nembidzane in the second half. Westdy responded by replacing Tshiginga Netshiendeulu with Danny Mukosi in the 67th minute. The men from Muraleni initiated some promising moves from the centre of the pitch, but were denied a number of scoring opportunities by the solid defence of Westdy.

In the 80th minute, Nndweleni Tsanwani forced his way through the defence of Westdy and scored an easy goal from close range to make the final score 2-1.
