The much-awaited final of the Amos Charity Shield Soccer Tournament will be staged at the Levubu Rugby Stadium tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon.
Tshakhuma Na Ndilani, or TNN, and Maweja Takers will rub shoulders in what observers call a dream final. TNN beat FC KK 3-2 in their decider at the Mulangaphuma grounds two weeks ago, while Maweja’s way to the final went via Tshakhuma Peace Lovers, whom they narrowly beat 1-0.
Takers will pin their hopes on their captain, Khuliso Netshaulu, and Khumbudzo Muvhango for the distribution of dangerous passes, while Zwivhuya Tshisaphungo and Takalani Ramagalela are tipped to keep the defence of TNN running for cover from the onset. For TNN, the combination of the Mukwevho brothers, Ndivhuwo and Rolivhuwa, cannot be underestimated .
Tshakhuma RO United and FC KK will meet in their losers’ final at 12:30, while the final is scheduled to start at 16:00.
The U/13 final will also be staged at the same venue tomorrow. TNN Academy and Shooting Stars will fight for the championship, which will start at 09:30.
The Amos Charity champions will take home a cash prize of R10 000, a floating trophy, soccer kit and gold medals, while the runners-up will receive R6 000, soccer kit and silver medals. The third-placed side will receive R3 500 and bronze medals, while R1 000 is awaiting the team that will finish in the fourth spot.
The U/13 champions will become R3 500 richer, while the runners-up will go home with R2 000. Individual awards will be presented to the top goal scorer, player of the tournament, goalkeeper of the tournament, most disciplined player and the coach of the tournament.
