An affiliate of the Thulamela Local Football Association, Lunungwi United FC, received brand new soccer kit from the management of Thwwa Trading and Projects Company.
The kit was officially handed over to the club at the local chief’s kraal on Sunday afternoon.
Before handing over the kit to the team, the manager of the company, Mr VP Tshivhase, revealed that the donation was a fulfillment of the pledge the company had made to the local community. According to Tshivhase, the managing director of the company, Dr Hulisani Kwinda, promised to develop the community in many ways at the time when he was given a piece of land for development purposes some months back.
Tshivhase further stated that the donation was the beginning of great things to come.
When addressing the people, the local traditional leader, Vhamusanda Vho-Mutshutshu Edson Mamatho, revealed that he was still going to attract more investors to the area. He severely criticized the people who accused him of giving a piece of land to non-residents at the time when he gave Dr Kwinda a piece of land for development purposes
In his words of appreciation for the donation, the captain of the team, Rolivhuwa Manduna, praised the company for ploughing back part of their income back into the community. He stated that the donation would go a long way in boosting the morale of the players. According to the general manager of the club, Mr NE Muswubi, the club was founded in the early nineties.
The people who are currently managing the team are: Messrs NE Muswubi (general manager), Mashudu Rasiaga (chairman), Maberegisi Avhafunani (deputy chairman), Nenngwekhulu Thivhudziswi (general secretary), Kone Ndileleni (deputy secretary), Muswubi Solomon (treasurer), Netsianda Peter (transport organizer) and Manduna Sedzani (PRO).
