Rondebosch Riding School held annual Spring Gymkhana

Sport  Date: 30 October 2015

The Rondebosch Riding School outside Louis Trichardt held their annual Spring Gymkhana on 24 October. The day dawned dark and drizzly, and not very promising for the big day.

Undaunted, they put in the final preparations before the kick-off at 09:00, and true to weather forecasts, the clouds peeled away to leave clear blue skies. The little ones started the events of the day with great enthusiasm, followed by this year’s musical ride, performed to perfection by the advanced group.

The rest of the riders threw themselves into the remainder of the day’s events, finishing in style with the obstacle course, and great fun was had by all. “Congratulations to everyone who took part, and thanks to all the parents who supported their children. It takes a lot of bravery for these kids to get up on a horse and ride in front of an audience,” said Sarah Coronaios of the riding school.

She also thanked all the prize sponsors, namely Mike’s Kitchen, Roman’s Pizza, Noorde Wapens, Davonnies and the Soutpansberg Astronomy Club. “Thanks also to my stalwart assistants and family, who braved the burning sun and did all the jobs that I delegated to them,” said Sarah.
