Can Black Leopards maul Cape Town’s Santos on Saturday?

Sport  Date: 30 October 2015

It remains to be seen whether Black Leopards will make a comeback and collect full points in their NFD League match against Santos at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town tomorrow afternoon.

While things seem to be moving from bad to worse in the Leopards’ camp, the situation looks different for Santos. The Cape Town side tasted their first victory last weekend after donating vital points in their opening seven matches.

They registered their first win against African Warriors, whom they beat 2-1 at the Athlone Stadium last Saturday. At the same time, Leopards were beaten 0-1 by Amazulu at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban.

According to Leopards’ assistant coach, Mongezi Bobe, they are going to Cape Town with one thing in mind, to collect full points and restore the team’s lost pride. Bobe revealed that their two key players, Jonathan King and the Malawian international, Harry Nyirenda, will be available for selection tomorrow after missing their last three matches due to injury. If given a chance, Nyirenda will form a deadly combination with Thivhavhudzi Ndou, Dunga Munganga and Marks Munyai at the back.

Moroka Swallows will undertake a journey to Richards Bay where they will play against Thanda Royal Zulu at the Umhlatuze Sports Complex. Swallows are still battling to find a winning combination. Baroka will host African Warriors at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Baroka disappointed their enthusiastic supporters when they drew 2-2 with Royal Eagles at home last weekend.

Royal Eagles will host Witbank Spurs at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban. Highlands Park will entertain Mthatha Bucks at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa and Cape Town All Stars will fight for league points with Amazulu at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town. Mbombela United will host FC Cape Town at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit.
