GIYANI – The Asian motor manufacturers, TATA Motors, recently revealed their new deal within the South African soccer fraternity, when they announced that they will be sponsoring the PSL outfit based in Giyani, Dynamos.
The sponsorship announcement took place during an event held at theSunnyside Park Hotel in Johannesburg a week ago. According to the managing director of TATA Motors, Mr R Dhawn, his company realised that Dynamos, who is struggling to uplift the standard of football in the country as well as creating jobs through sport, needed some financial and resource assistance. He further said that he hoped and believed that, with his company’s partnering with the Giyani lads, the team would improve drastically in the coming season.
Dhawn said that a transport crisis for administrative and other activities needed at Dynamos are a matter of the past as his company gave the team four vehicles.
The Managing Director of Dynamos, Mr Pat Malabela, confirmed his team’s three-year contract with TATA Motors. Malabela claimed that TATA Motors would again give his team six more vehicles in the coming soccer seasons. He said that the new partnership with the Asian motor manufacturing company will enhance the profile of his team, its quest to secure a financial sponsor as well as giv-ing it a competitive edge not only on the field on play, but also in boosting its corporate image.
“We want to thank TATA Motors for partnering with a young and ambitious club like ourselves. We are safely guaranteeing them a healthy working relationship as this projects their vision at a time when the focus of World Football is on South Africa,” he said. Malabela added that, as Dynamos, they were equally glad to be associated with a visionary company that is preparing to grow with a team operating from the under-privileged communities.
The Premier Soccer League Marketing and Corporate Communication Manager, Ms Ntambi Ravele, said that the PSL in particular appreciates the giant step taken by TATA in emerging as a new sponsor for Dynamos FC.
