Sendedza Masters became the winners of the Muravha Building and Civil tournament when they beat the Wesifa Masters 8-2 at the Rabali Stadium last Saturday.
Sendedza received R1 000, a soccer kit, gold medals, two soccer balls and a pair of goalkeeper’s gloves during a ceremony that was held at the stadium shortly after the final. The Wesifa Masters received R600, a soccer kit, two soccer balls and silver medals, while Khakhu Masters (3rd) took home a cash prize of R400 and a soccer ball. Mandiwana Masters (4th) received R300 and a soccer ball.
The other teams that took part in the tournament each received R200. Seventeen teams took part in the tournament.
A representative from the sponsors, Mr Desmond Lebea, said that they were impressed by the manner in which the competition was run and that his company would continue to sponsor the league in the coming years. The sponsorship will increase from time to time, he added. He also indicated that it is their wish to see teams from as far as Polokwane taking part in the tournament.
Players who are 50 years and older received gold medals during the ceremony.
