Madombidzha Arsenal FC beat Tshikhwani Stone Breakers 1-0 in their Safa Vhembe MMK Administrators League match at Tshikhwani on Saturday.
Breakers started at a fast pace, with the midfielders on fire. Freddy Moshukwa of Breakers forced his way through the defence of Arsenal and passed to Aubrey Hamisi. His attempt missed the target by inches. Arsenal then realised that Breakers were all over them and abandoned their positions and packed themselves at the far back.
Mpheni Razwimisani of Arsenal dribbled past three defenders in a row but shot wide when left with only the keeper to beat. Thabo Mammburu and Silas Mboyi of Breakers were cautioned with yellow cards for different infringements. The scoreboard was still nil- nil when the referee blew the half-time whistle.
Arsenal approached the second half like a house on fire and started to dictate terms in all departments. Phathutshedzo Nemagovhani of Arsenal scored the only goal of the match. In the 64th minute, he unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that beat Given Makgotho, the keeper of Breakers.
