Louis Trichardt High School

Triegies to host a most Amazing Race in April

Sport  Date: 03 March 2016

Louis Trichardt High School is bustling with activity in preparation for their very own Amazing Race.

This day promises lost of fun for young and old, as well as for local businesses.

The organisers said the Triegie Amazing Race is open for all residents and will offer a unique opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves. This fun day will kick off bright and early on Friday, 8 April, at the school. Teams who want to participate in the race must consist of four members, of which one must be a woman.

Each team will also need to have some sort of transport, such as a wheelbarrow or grocery trolley, to get to and from the different tasks. High school pupils will be on duty that day and issue fines if one team member is not in their vehicle at all times. The vehicle will not be allowed to have an engine.

The cost to register a team is R2 500. To reserve a stall will also cost R2 500. Any type of product or service can be displayed or marketed. The school, however, requested that no food or refreshment stalls be booked. Instead, the school wants to afford local non-profit organisations the opportunity to man the food court, so that they might also profit from the event to further their causes.

Afterwards, the day will be concluded with a festive braai under the school's well-known "Vryboom". For the school pupils there will be loud music, competitions with prizes and a whole lot of fun in the school hall, with the ever popular "Musiek Pret" booked for the evening.
