Makhitha Oscar Stars strengthened their position on the log of the MMK Administrators League, when they beat Madombidzha Western Stars 2-0 on Saturday on Sunday.

The first 10 minutes of the game saw Western enjoy more ball possession, with the defence of Oscar playing with their backs against the wall. Western gained momentum as the first half approached the halfway mark. At that stage, Oscar were playing defensive football.

Oscar scored their opening goal in the 29th minute. Leavy Matshavha sent a good pass to Thusani Luvhengo, who was on target with a fine header to bring the half-time score to 1-0.

Western Stars came back strongly in the last half, while the boys from Makhitha initiated some promising moves from the centre of the pitch. Phumudzo Mafukata was lucky to escape with a verbal warning after kicking Sydney Luvhengo of Oscar Stars.

The Makhitha lads cooled the ball down in the middle of the park, giving their opponents no chance in the last 25 minuts of the match. Lennox Mabila of Oscar was on target in the 80th minute. Andries Masingi of Western missed a sitter when he was left with only the keeper to beat. Western's captain, Silas Rammbona, was given a red card for allegedly beating the referee when he blew the final whistle.
