After losing their last three matches, Black Leopards' fans expect the team to make a comeback and beat Moroka Swallows in their NFD League match at the Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
Once a powerhouse in South African soccer, the Dube Birds have been on a continuous slump since their relegation to the NFD this year. The last time Moroka Swallows registered a win in a league match was in October last year. They are currently lying at the bottom of the log and are at huge risk to be relegated again at the end of this season.
Leopards and Swallows played to a 1-1 draw in their first-round league match at the Dobsonville Stadium. Leopards’ right back, Thivhavhudzi Ndou, will watch the game from the grandstand tomorrow. He was given his marching orders in their Nedbank Cup game against Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg last Wednesday evening.
Phathutshedzo Nange is likely to take Ndou’s position tomorrow. If given a chance, Nange will form a strong combination with Lebohang Mabotja and Djunga Munganga at the back. Leopards are now focused on securing a place in the promotional play-offs at the end of the season, as gaining automatic promotion is something that is beyond their reach.
FC Cape Town will host Royal Eagles in Cape Town. Royal Eagles are one of the close contenders for the league title. Cape Town All Stars and Witbank Spurs will meet at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town, while Mbombela United will host Vasco da Gama at the Kanyamazane Stadium in Nelspruit.
Thand Royal Zulu will try their luck against Highlandspark at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa. Mthatha Bucks will entertain Santos at the Mthatha Stadium. Santos are fresh from beating Bucks 1-0 in a Nedbank Cup match.
Amazulu and Baroka will meet at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban. Milano United and African Warriors will fight for league points at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.
