Just like in their previous six matches, Black Leopards continued to play good football against Milano United in their NFD match at the Blue Downs Stadium in Cape Town last Friday, but they lost 1-2 in the end.
The home side took the lead in the 27th minute when Brendan Theron blasted in a rocket from close range to bring the half-time score to 1-0.
Leopards fought back in the 59th minute. They were awarded a penalty from which Ruggert Nyundu scored the equalizer. Milano United found the winner through Morne Davids late in the game. Milano moved to the third spot on the log after the victory.
A see-saw battle at the Puma Rugby Stadium in Emalahleni saw Witbank Spurs share the spoils with Amazulu. The Kwazulu Natal side was the first to draw the blood. Zaid Patel went loose from the left corner and beat the keeper with a volley.
Two goals by Percy Tau and Joshua Souls in the opening minutes of the last half put Spurs ahead, but Amazulu made sure they went back home with a point in hand after scoring the equalizer through Marc Van Heerden in the dying minutes of the game.
Mbombela United kept their promotion hopes alive by beating Thanda Royal Zulu 1-0 at the Umhlatuze Sports Complex in Richards Bay, thanks to a 90th-minute goal by Tshidiso Patjie. Bafana Dlamini scored for Mthatha Bucks in the 19th minute in their game against Vasco da Gama, who retaliated in the 78th minute through Rafik De Goede to bring the full-time score to 1-1.
Nkosinathi Ndlovu, Jacky Mothsegwa and Lucky Mothwa scored for Baroka FC when they overpowered Santos 3-1. Santos' solitary goal came via Suhayil Alie in the referee’s optional time.
African Warriors lost 1-2 to FC Cape Town at the Charles Mopedi Stadium in Phuthaditshaba. Moroka Swallows drew 1-1 with Cape Town All Stars at the Dobsonville Stadium and Royal Eagles lost 1-2 to Highlandspark at the Makhulong Stadium in Thembisa.
