In their losers’ final match for the Thikhathali Dolo Godfrey Mammburu Soccer Tournament, Begwa United FC beat Tshifudi XI Experience 2-1.

Experience could have sealed the game in the first half, had it not been for the fact that their strikers seemed to have forgotten their scoring boots at home. It became clear that it was not their day when they squandered two obvious chances within the first 20 minutes of the game. Begwa gained momentum with time, creating some promising moves from the centre of the pitch. Their time came in the 34th minute. Hlahla Maringa forced his way through the defence of Experience before beating the keeper with a grass cutter.

As one of their many ways to vent their frustrations, XI Experience introduced Muano Netshilaphala and Emmanuel Magadani for Thembuluwo Mutshena and Dovhani Mashau respectively. They found the equalizer through Zwothe Muthelo in the 64th minute. He hooked in the ball, following a scramble within the box.

The only change Begwa effected to their starting lineup was when they replaced Khuliso Mutambo with Norman Muronga in the 74th minute. Begwa enjoyed possession of the ball after Muronga’s introduction. It was not surprising when they reclaimed the lead in the 84th minute via Naledzani Nemutanzhela.
