Gogobole Home Defenders gave away league points to Tshiozwi Mates when they lost 1-2 in their Limpopo Dairy match at the Gogobole grounds on Monday.
Two of Defenders' key players went into the referee's book and Mates continued to fight as an organised team. The two players who were cautioned with cards for rough tackling were Brighton Sebola and Murendeni Mauvhelwana. Mates came close to scoring in the 35th minute, but Doctor Masingi's shot missed the pole by inches.
Mates continued to mount pressure on the defence of the local lads. They were the first to draw blood. In the 60th minute, Hlamulo Ndlovu of Mates scored his team's first goal. It came after an error in defence by Defenders.
Their celebration was cut short as Brighton Phuravhathu of Defenders was on target. After the goal, Defenders called on Lutendo Thathaisa and Mulalo Lethole for Ndivhuwo Sikhwivhilu and Thama Tharini respectively.
Nkosinathi Nduna scored his team’s winning goal after he received a marvellous pass from Takalani Sadiki .
