Money for MMK League clubs

LWAMONDO – Prize money to the value of R70 000 will be distributed to the clubs that were affiliated to the Vuwani Stream of the MMK League last season during a ceremony that will be held at the Northern Training Trust at Lwamondo on Sunday.

The champions for each of the two streams will each receive a cash prize amounting to R5 500 and a floating trophy. The runner-up will take home an amount of R3 000. The third-placed teams from each stream will become R2 700 richer.

A cheque amounting to R2 300 is awaiting the teams that finished last season’s programme in the fourth place. NJ Groovings obtained the first position in the Western Stream. They became the overall winners after beating Nesengani Junior Swallows in their promotional play-off match that was played at the Mashau grounds.

In the Northern Stream, Tshino Mighty Comrades obtained the second position. Tshianelo Anchors finished in the third spot while Muungamunwe Silver Stars finished in the fourth spot. KK Revolution will take home the fifth prize.

The prizes for the MMK KO competition will also be dished out during the ceremony. Nngwekhulu Real Rovers are the 2004 champions and will receive a cheque to the value of R2200 and a floating trophy. Tshianelo Anchors are the runners-up. Vyeboom United Brothers and Tshifulanani Mighty Rock will take home the third and fourth prize respectively. In the statement that was released this week, the association appealed to the clubs to send two delegates, who should be dressed formally, to the ceremony. The ceremony will start at 09:00.
