Tshakhuma Na Ndilani (TNN) beat Rambuda Young Fighters 5-3 in their losers’ final match for the Safa Vhembe promotional play-offs at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday.

Their fast forward, Dakalo “Akonkwo” Nemakonde, had his chance four minutes into the game. He received a good pass from Rolivhuwa Mukwevho and unleashed from the edge of the box, but was not on target. Young Fighters then regrouped from behind, making life difficult for the TNN midfielders.

TNN opened their account in the 26th minute when Khathutshelo “Adebayo” Mudau beat the keeper, following a great pass from Gift Nemutandani. Fighters equalised in the74th minute from the penalty spot, when their frontrunner, Humphrey Netshivhongweni, was brought down within the box. Pfunzo Tshikovhi converted from the white spot.

Rolivhuwa Mukwevho of TNN was given his marching orders, following an ugly tackle on Awelani Mphigalale.

The winner was determined through penalty shoot-out. TNN converted four of their chances through Gift Nemutandani, Oscar Ntshauba, Maduvha Matodzi and the 13-year-old Maboho Nevari, while Fighters scored three. TNN were presented with bronze medals during a ceremony at the stadium later in the evening.
