Four teams from Tshisaulu village and the adjacent area, Duthuni, will play in the Tshisaulu vs Duthuni Youth Tournament at the Tshisaulu Magenge grounds next Thursday, June 16.
The four teams gearing up for the one-day tournament are: Tshisaulu FC, Tshisaulu Cobra All Stars, Ravis FC and Duthuni Happy Boys. According to one of the organizers of the event and spokesperson of the tournament, Mr Vincent “Ligwaza” Sigaba, the draws will be conducted next Wednesday evening.
The first semifinal is scheduled to start at 09:00, with the second semifinal at 11:00. The winners in the semifinal matches will meet in the final at 14:30. Sigaba revealed that the champions will take home a cash prize of R5 000, soccer kit, four soccer balls and gold medals. A cash prize of R3 000, soccer kit, three soccer balls and silver medals are awaiting the team that will finish the tournament in the second spot.
Sigaba stated that they were relying on donors, saying there were no sponsors. He added that raising funds for the prizes was not an easy thing to do and that they had to knock on the doors of local businessmen for assistance.
