The under 12 soccer team of Benny's Care Soccer Academy will participate in the provincial finals of the Danone U/12 tournament at the fields of Hoërskool Noorderland in Polokwane tomorrow (Saturday).

The teams that will participate are Benny’s Care (Vhembe), Thapolankoana Primary (Mopani), Bolahlakgomo Primary (Sekhukhune) and Sekakate Primary School (Capricorn).

Benny’s are representing Vhembe for the fourth successive year in the tournament and their coach is confident that they will bring back the trophy. “I’ve told my boys that we can perform well this year, if we only focus and give our best. We are ready for the final battle," says Mr Mbishi Mokwena, the team's coach for the past five years.

Mokeona also acknowledged that they had learnt from last year’s “slip-ups” and will have a different approach this year: “Last year we lost, due to a lack of concentration. The boys have to master the art of concentration and focus. I have therefore prepared them mentally not to make simple mistakes.”

The president of Sasfa Limpopo, Mr Hulisani Mabasa, praised Danone for their decision to sponsor school football. "I'm very proud that we have grown young people of real quality," he said. He added that he was convinced that the association would produce international stars in the future.
