TNN Academy win U/15 tournament

Tshakhuma Na Ndilani Academy were crowned the winners of the Rolta Guest House U/15 Winter Tournament at the Shayandima School grounds last Saturday. They beat the hosts, Shayandima Power Stars, 4-3 in the final.

The winner was determined through penalty shootout as the score was 1-1 at the end of  regulation time.

Tshakhuma Na Ndilani,or TNN Academy as they are widely known, received a cash prize of R1 000, a floating trophy and gold medals during a ceremony at the grounds shortly after the final whistle.

TNN’s way to the final went via Disco Stars, whom they beat 4-3 in their quarterfinal match at the same venue earlier that day. Their semifinal match was against Maniini K & R Junior, whom they beat 2-0.

The runners-up, Shayandima Power Stars, were presented with cash prize of R500 and a trophy. Gwamasenga United Brothers, who finished in the third position, took home R300. Gwamasenga beat Maniini K&R Junior 1-0 in their losers’ final match. Maniini K & R Junior, who finished in the fourth spot, went home with a cash prize of R200.

According to one of the organizers for the tournament, Mr Joseph Netshakhuma, 28 teams took part in the tournament. The teams were initially divided into seven streams. Each stream consisted of four teams. The champions from the seven streams battled it out for the championship at the Shayandima School grounds last Saturday.
