Sport  Date: 08 July 2016

The Tshenzhelani grounds will be a hive of activity this weekend. That is where the annual MS Quality Bilisi Soccer Festival tournament will be staged. Eight teams from Masisi and the surrounding areas will take part in this year’s event.

Four quarterfinal matches will be played tomorrow, while the semifinals and final will be played on Sunday. Just like in the previous years, the quarterfinal matches will be preceded by a 15 km fun run, which is scheduled to start at 07:00. Asa Masikhwa was the winner in last year’s fun run.

The first match  is scheduled to kick off at 09:00. It will be between Sigonde FC and Mutele FC. Masisi FC and the hosts, Tshenzhelani FC, will rub shoulders at 11:00. Tuwani FC and Tshikuyu will meet at 13:00. The defending champions, Maramanzhi FC, will battle it out against Dzungani FC at 15:00. The winners in the quarterfinal matches will play in the semifinals on Sunday morning and the final will take place later in the afternoon.

According to one of the organizers and the founder of the tournament, Mr Richard “Bilisi” Rambiyana, the champions will take home R3 200 and a floating trophy. The runners-up and the third-placed team will receive R2 300 and R1 000 respectively.
