This weekend marks the start of the Khubvi Soccer Tournament. Sixteen teams from Khubvi and the surrounding areas will take part in the tournament.
According to one of the organizers of the tournament, Mr Norman Ramahada, all matches will be played at the Khubvi Benjies grounds.
Four matches will be played tomorrow. The fixtures are: The Dolphins FC vs Khubvi Dangerous Darkies (09:00), Musasenda Big V vs Muhuyu Copper Stars (11:00.), Begwa FC vs Thenzheni Liverpool (13:00) and Phandulaluvalo FC will lock horns with Mulodi Freedom Birds later in the afternoon.
Sunday's matches are: Makonde FC vs Mutale Vikings (08:00), Tshandama Try Together vs Ficus FC (10:00), Shadani Dangerous Scorpions vs Lukau Hot Aces (12:00) and Matangari High Aims and Rambuda Young Fighters will battle it out soon afterwards.
The champions of the tournament will become R5 000 richer. The runners-up will take home R2 500. The third- and fourth-placed sides will receive R1 000 and R500 respectively. A local business, Benjie's Discount World, is the main sponsor for the tournament.
The final will be played on 24 July.
