The Soweto glamour team Kaizer Chiefs, as well as local favourites Black Leopards, Baroka and Magezi FC, will participate in the Limpopo FAME Charity Cup that will take place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on 6 August.
According to the chief operations officer of the event, Mr Tshifhiwa 'Chief' Thidiela, the aim of the event is to raise funds for charity organisations and bursaries for students in need of financial support. "We aim to educate and train our people, so that they can have a better tomorrow,” explained Thidiela.
“When you look at the talent we have on the field‚ Limpopo just had two teams promoted - one to the PSL and one to the NFD - hence we’ve included both those teams‚” Thidiela said. He added that Kaizer Chiefs would add some glamour to the event. "When you rub shoulders with successful people, you will also be able to follow in their footsteps. It shows that the province has such a lot of support. You look at Limpopo as a poor‚ rural province‚ but there is a lot of talent that comes from it."
Tickets are available at Computicket at R80 per person.
