Tshiozwi Mates beat Benny’s Care 2-0 in a Limpopo Dairy league match at the Tshiozwi grounds on Sunday.

Mates took the game to their opponents from the onset, giving the defenders of Benny's no time to breathe. Doctor Masingi of Mates was a marvel to watch and he performed spectacularly.

It took Mates only five minutes to knock on Benny’s’ door. Their slender left flank, Mariasi Ndou, miskicked the ball within the box. The game was seven minutes old when the hosts took the lead. Rodwel Manenzhe dished a pre-cooked pass to Doctor Masingi, who moved three steps forward before unleashing a half volley.

Benny's abused countless scoring opportunities in the opening minutes. Pootona Marshall unleashed prematurely, instead of moving a few steps towards the keeper. The half-time score was 1-0 in favour of Mates.

Austin Pootana of Benny’s should have equalised, but his shot was palmed away by the opponents' keeper.

Mates made two replacements in the second half. They introduced Brighton Raluswinga and Rolivhuwa Matiti  for Gundo Mahuma and Rodwell Manenzhe respectively. The replacements changed the complexion of the game, as the host team continued to fight like a possessed team.

The second goal of Mates came in the 79th minute. They were awarded a free  kick that was taken by Doctor Masingi. Hlamulo Ndlovu found the net after a rebound.
