The semifinal matches and the final of the Tshikosi Off-season Soccer Tournament will be staged at the Makonde Home Defenders grounds this weekend.

The semifinal matches will be played tomorrow afternoon (Saturday) and the final on Sunday. The first semi will be between Mukula Young Santos and Sambandou United Professionals. The match is scheduled to start at 12:00.

Professionals lost 0-2 to Madridtas FC at the same venue in their quarterfinal match last Sunday. According to the organizers, Professionals lodged a protest with the referee before the game started. In their protest, they indicated that Madridtas had violated one of the rules of the tournament by fielding defaulters. The disciplinary committee for the tournament found Madridtas guilty and disqualified them from the tournament.

Khubvi Dangerous Darkies and Folovhodwe Stone Breakers will meet in the second semifinal later in the afternoon. The winners of the two semifinal matches will meet at the same venue on Sunday afternoon at 14:00, while the two teams booted out in the semifinals will meet in the losers’ final match on Sunday morning at 11:00.

The players to watch in the weekend matches are Ndinannyi Mulebe (Sapro), Vhahangwele Tshifhango (Mukula Young Santos) and Avhatakali Tshivhase of Khubvi Dangerous Darkies.

The champions will walk away with R5 000, the runners-up will become R2 500 richer, while the teams that will obtain the third and fourth place will take home R1 500 and R750 respectively.
