Sport  Date: 03 October 2016

Local sport stars Benny’s Care are ready to represent South Africa in the U/12 Danone World Cup  from 16 October in France.

They are going to participate with other 31 schools from all over the world and there are eight pools, with four teams in each pool. Benny’s will compete in Pool E, together with Indonesia, South Korea and the only all-girl team ever to compete in the world finals, Italy.

According to the team’s coach, Mr Mbishi Mokwena, they are happy with the draw. “Our final preparations will now focus on practise games against older age groups and therefore bigger players. I also need to decide on the final positions of the boys. My tallest player will be my key player. He is versatile and can play at the front and at the back and I need to ensure that we play him in the correct position.”

According to an ambassador for the event, fun, respect and solidarity are the keywords of the Danone Nations Cup. “It's a sporting event, but also a school of life. The 16th of October will be the moment for spectators and their families to support their team, while enjoying a festive day with numerous events.”
