Madombidzha Arsenal shock the log leaders

Madombidzha Arsenal shocked the log leaders of Stream E of the MMK Administrators League, Makhitha Oscar Stars, by beating them 4-3 at Madombidzha on Sunday.

Stars took the game to Arsenal, with their midfielders demonstrating a spirit of commitment. They could have sealed the game within the first 10 minutes, but their strikers were not lucky enough to convert their obvious chances into goals.

Arsenal were the first to find the net. Their skilful fast forward, Mpheni Razwimisani, hooked in the ball after a scramble within the box. The youthful Stars started to play defensive football after conceding the goal. They did not get far with this practice as their coach was heard instructing them to take the game to their opponents.

Stars' defenders made a mistake and Razwimisa completed his brace to score his team's second goal in the 35th minute. Itani Selota of Stars scored with beautiful header from a corner kick taken by Leavy Machaba.

Arsenal increased the margin in the 64th minute. Loyd Davhana beat the offside trap from the left corner and unleashed a rocket from the edge of the box. The ball hit the crossbar and landed across the goal line. The half-time score was 3-1 in favour of Arsenal.

In the second half, Thabelo Mavhetha dished a pre-cooked pass to Leavy Machaba and unleashed a half volley that beat the keeper of Arsenal, Tshepiso Manavhela.

Arsenal did not stop fighting, although victory was almost certain. Their efforts paid off when Loyd Davhana hooked in a loose ball to make it 4-2 in the 78th minute. Stars where then awarded a penalty and Rhulani Maringa scored from the spot to make the final score 4-3.
