On Tuesday this week, a slight technical hitch delayed their departure for Zimbabwe. They arrived in South Africa after a tour which started in Cuba and stretched through the entire South America.
French cyclists take on Africa

Two French cyclists who have been travelling all over the world on their tandem cycle for 16 months spent the past weekend in Louis Trichardt.
The two, Julien Proucan from Lacroix-Barrez and Vincent Gallego from Albi, France, started out in Cuba. They have travelled through various countries in South America like Brazil and Venezuela. They arrived in Johannesburg two weeks ago by aeroplane, travelled by bus to Nelspruit, and cycled from Nelspruit to Louis Trichardt.
In town, they were hosted by Clouds End Hotel and they cycled with the P&L Hardware Cycling Club on Saturday, April 22. They described their experience as “incredible”.
Proucan and Gallego will head to Zimbabwe and will cycle through Mutare and enter Mozambique. From there they cycle to Malawi, Tanzania and finally Kenya. This is where their African cycling ends and they will then fly to Italy. They intend cycling through Italy to the south of France, which is where they live, near Toulouse. They left France by air, and intend returning on their tandem.
The local cyclists wish them a smooth trip and hope they don’t end up needing too many spares on their way through the African countries.
