Peace Makers too strong for Gorillas

Tswinga Peace Makers taught Mutshenzheni Gorillas a soccer lesson when they brutally walloped them 4-0 in their Thulamela Local Football Association champ-of-champs semifinal match at the Makhuvha Stadium on Sunday.

Peace Makers played the better part of the game with 10 men, but Gorillas failed to capitalize on their numerical advantage. Aluwani Mbedzi of Peace Makers was booked for the use of vulgar words to a ball boy in the eighth minute.

Peace Makers opened their account in the 14^th minute when Limani Raulinga finished off a square pass from Khuliso Khwerana. Aluwani Mbedzi of Peace Makers tackled Livhuwani Mukosi from behind and the referee then gave him his marching orders.

That did not stop Peace Makers from scoring their second goal before the referee blew the half-time whistle. Khuliso Khwerana beat the offside trap and showed the keeper the wrong way.

Sarel Phalanndwa of Gorillas was reprimanded with a card for obstruction two minutes before the break. Peace Makers replaced Khuliso Khwerana with Khuthadzo Magonono five minutes into the last half.

Madilonga Mukwevho, the Gorillas’ captain, was warned with a card for protesting against the referee’s decision. Peace Makers were awarded a penalty after Tsireledzo Makwarela was brought down within the box. Limani Raulinga shot straight to the keeper, who easily palmed the ball away for a corner kick.

Gorillas were reduced to 10 men in the 68^th minute. Their keeper, Funzani Nephalala, was given his marching orders, following an illegal tackle on Rendani Masindi. Gorillas were awarded a penalty after Rudzani Ramashia was brought down within the box. Madilonga Mukwevho shot wide from the white spot.

Limani Raulinga and Mashudu Mudau scored the Peace Makers’ last two goals in the 78^th and 84^th minute respectively.
