Maweja and United in Motsepe clash

It will be business as usual for the teams affiliated to the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League this weekend.

It remains to be seen whether Joe Maweja will be able to rise to the occasion and collect the maximum points from their match against Polokwane United at the Tshifulanani Stadium tomorrow afternoon. Maweja must win the match at all cost to enhance their chances of escaping the relegation axe at the end of the season.

The combination of Tshifhiwa Ramaphosa, Thetshelesani Tshipani and Madilonga Mukwevho as the defence of Maweja is good enough to bring joy to the team’s supporters. The Tshakhuma-based outfit is currently lying at the bottom of the log. They have deposited only three points from their eight matches they had played to date. United are on the safe side when it comes to relegation as they are lying in the ninth spot on the log.

The other Tshakhuma-based side, Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, will also play their match at home. They will entertain Polokwane Academy at the Tshifulanani Stadium on Sunday. Tshakhuma did the unexpected last weekend when they beat one of the title chasers, Madridtas FC, 1-0. The Tshakhuma defence, which is marshalled by Mulisa Luvhengo, Lavhelesani Mukomafhedzi and Douglas Maluleke, will ensure that their danger area is clean all the time while their strikers, Rendani Dzivhani, Emmanuel Neswiswi and Thabiso Maitsapo, will have a mammoth task against the defenders of Academy.

Mikhado FC will travel to Jane Furse in the Sekhukhune area where they will play against Ditlou FC, and Madridtas FC will pay a visit to Baroka FC at the Ngoana Mahube Stadium in Polokwane.

The pace setters, Ndengeza FC, will have a date with Great North FC at the Giyani Stadium. Magezi FC will play against Giyani Hotspurs at the TT Cholo Stadium in Polokwane.

Mighty FC will host The Dolphins at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium this evening, starting at 18:00.
