More points for Lidoda Duvha

The new head coach of Black Leopards, Mr Ivan Minnaert, steered his side to a second successive victory when they beat Super Eagles 2-1 at the Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem on Saturday.

Leopards won their first match under the guidance of Minnaert two weeks ago, when they beat Mthatha Bucks 2-0 at the Thohoyandou Stadium.

Phathutshedzo Nange and Nwape Musonda scored for the Thohoyandou outfit, while the Eagles’ solitary goal came via Daniel Sikhosana. Black Leopards moved two steps up the ladder following the victory. They are in the 8th position on the log with 16 points accumulated from their 12 outings.

Ubuntu Cape Town registered their first victory. They unexpectedly shocked Mthatha Bucks 4-1 at the Mthatha Stadium. Bucks were the first to find the net through Ronny Nkoana. Ubuntu did not give in after conceding the early goal. They scored two goals before the end of the first half via Harry Dlamini and George Thalana, while their last two were scored in the dying minutes of the game. Ubuntu are still languishing at the bottom of the log, despite collecting the maximum points last Saturday.

It was a one-way traffic when Jomo Cosmos squashed Mbombela United 4-1 at the Vosloorus Stadium.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) shared the spoils with Royal Eagles, and played to a 2-2 draw at the Thohoyandou Stadium. Mpambaniso Monde and Aluwani Nedzamba scored for TTM, while the Eagles’ centre forward, Levy Mashiane, scored a brace.

TTM dropped a step down on the log following the draw. They are now in in the 9th position with 16 points, seven behind the pace setters, Highlands Park.
