Who will win the MM Active road race?

The Thohoyandou Athletics Club will stage the MM Active road race next Saturday, 16 December.

According to one of the organisers of the event, Mr Andrew Mavhona, the race will be comprising three categories, a 5km fun walk, 10 km fun run and a half marathon (21,1 km) race. The registration for all categories will start at 05:00. The start and end for each category will be at the Thavhani Shopping Mall parking area in Thohoyandou.

The registration fees for the three categories are, R30 for the fun walk, R50 for the 10km fun run and R60 for the half marathon. Athletes who do not have a runners’ licence will be expected to buy temporary licences at R30, irrespective of the category in which they wish to take part. The race will start at 06:00.

Mavhona said that the prizes will be confirmed after their meeting the prospective sponsors early next week. Some of the sponsors include The Elias Resort, MTG Funerals, Liberty Life Insurance, BLKS Publicists, Tic and Mend, KFC, Wimpy, Mi Power, Harvest Chartered Accountants and the Thulamela Municipality.
