Mikhado FC held Polokwane United to 1-all draw in their Safa Limpopo ABC Motsepe League match at the Rabali Stadium on Friday.
The match was characterised by numerous fruitless attempts. United squandered three obvious chances within the first seven minutes. Oupa Sithole of United scored his team’s first goal with a marvellous shot.
United pressed hard in search of more goals, but they could not break the defence of Makhado.
Realizing that their chances were slim, Mikhado abandoned their positions and packed themselves at the far back. Ndamulelo Mugodi of Mikhado should have equalised in the 29th minute, but their chance was denied by acrobatic goal keeper Gilbert Kgopa.
Mikhado brought on Rendani Thavhana and Simon Nedoli for Teddy Denga and Ndamulelo Mugadi. Their introduction changed the nature of the match as their opponents were always running for cover.
Mukovhe Mphaga of Mikhado scored his team's goal in 74th minute from a free kick after he finished a pre-cooked pass from Lufuno Ndou. He unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box and the keeper of United watched in disbelief was the ball crossed the goal line to equalise.
