Ablex FC brutally walloped Madritas FC 8-0 in a Safa Limpopo ABC Motsepe league match at the Louis Trichardt show grounds on Saturday.
Ablex was the superior side from the onset and they put a lot of pressure on the defence of Madritas for the better part of the match. Mpho Mavhandu opened the score in the fifth minute. They added another goal in the 12th minute when Humbulani Managa beat the keeper with a ground cutter from a set piece. Mpho Mavhandu scored his team’s third goal towards the end of the first half.
The keeper of Ablex, Alikan Nemakanga, made his presence felt in the 57th minute. Thuso Nevhufumba tried his luck from the edge of the box with a half volley. Nemakanga palmed the ball back into the field of play. Owen Thuto scored his team’s fourth goal in the 60th minute.
Musekwa scored the fifth goal two minutes later, while Innocent Mathatha was on target a few minutes later.
The last two goals were scored be Owen Thuso in quick succession late in the match.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
