The former Dynamos Marketing Manager, Mr Sinky Mnisi, will become R300 000 richer if the Commission for Conciliation Mediation and Arbitration rules in his favour. Mnisi and his former employer will appear before the commission in Polokwane on Monday, October 30.
Mnisi took the matter up with the CCMA, following his so-called unfair dismissal last month. Mnisi is demanding an amount of R300 000 from the club, which includes his September salary and his retrenchment benefits. According to Mnisi, his reason for taking the matter to the CCMA was that the club had retained his September salary without valid reasons.
The Dynamos boss, Mr July Malabela, stated that he dismissed Mnisi late last month, after it was discovered that the latter owned a Vodacom League Club, Bosveld Classic. Malabela further revealed that he felt that Mnisi would not give his full support to Dynamos, saying his interests would be divided.
Malabela admitted that they owe Mnisi his September salary and said that they would only pay him if he won the court battle against the club. The fuming Mnisi further indicated that he couldn’t understand Malabela’s argument, saying it was not based on facts.
He argued that there is no clause in the club’s constitution that prohibits one from owning a club in the lower division. Mnisi stated that he is not the only club official in the country to own a lower division club and yet there is no noise about the conflict of interest.
Mnisi joined Dynamos in 2004. He managed to lure a number of sponsors, including, TATA Transport and Hummel Clothing Company to the club.
Dynamos will fight for league points against Fidentia Rangers at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday.
