TTM ready for the new NFD season

This weekend marks the starting of the league activities for the new National First Division (NFD) season.

Four matches will be played tomorrow, while the remaining four will follow on Sunday afternoon. Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM), the only NFD side in Limpopo, will commence their new season with an away fixture.

They will undertake a journey to Durban for their match against Uthongathi FC at the Princess Magogo Stadium. According to the marketing manager of TTM, Mr Livhuwani Madzuhe, the team is ready to conquer any opposition. He added that the technical team was satisfied with the team’s pre-season preparations.

He stated that they had played numerous friendly games during their recent off-season camp in Gauteng. Their last friendly match was against their elder brothers, Black Leopards, with whom they played to a 1-1 draw at the Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday evening.

Madzuhe further indicated that they had signed several new players, including Happy Mudau, Patrick Meso, Nkosonathi Oninogbu, Shadrack Chimanya and a goalkeeper, Tshepo Ramaela. Chimanya was playing for the Zambian Premier League side, Nchanga Rangers, before joining the Tshakhuma side.

Madzuhe stated that they had beefed up the technical team by promoting their midfielder, David Mathebula, to serve as assistant to the head coach, Mr Sello Chokoe.  The other assistant coach is Mr Lucky Nelukau.

The other fixtures for tomorrow are: Royal Eagles vs Stellenbosch FC, Real Kings vs Witbank Spurs and Maccabi FC vs TS Sporting.

Sunday’s fixtures are: University of Pretoria vs Mbombela United, Jomo Cosmos vs Ajax Cape Town, TS Galaxy vs Cape Umoya United and Richards Bay FC vs Ubuntu Cape Town. All matches are scheduled to start at 15:00.
