The draw for the prestigious Mvela Golden League Absa Cup KO Competition was held at the Premier Soccer League offices in Johannesburg on Monday. All qualifying matches will be played on Wednesday, December 20.
The winning teams in the prelimary matches will book places in the top-32 stage of the competition. The top 32 matches for the annual event will be played in the first week of February next year. Dynamos drew Vasco Da Gama in Monday’s draws.
Although it will be an away match for Ri khomeni ri nga peli, chances are good for them to proceed to the next stage of the competition. Vasco da Gama are battling to impress their enthusiatic fans this season. They are perched somewhere in the relegation zone on the log.
University of Pretoria have also won the home ground advantage. They will battle it out against the current logleaders, Free State Stars. The Stars from the Free State Province will be lucky if they manage to book a place in the next round of the competition.
Witbank Spurs, who have been blowing hot and cold during the past weeks, will travel to Port Elizabeth. They will meet Bay United. City Pillars will be the visiting side in their match against Western Province United. Garankuwa United will host Nathi Lions.
FC AK and Fidentia Rangers will rub shoulders at the Eldorado Park Stadium in Johannesburg. The match between Durban Stars and Winnerspark will be played at the Chatsworth Stadium in Durban. PJ Stars will play against OR Tambo District.
