Fun for the young is a high priority during this year’s annual Kremetart One-Day Stage Race on June 9.

The first ever Kremetart Kiddies race will take place on Friday, June 8, at 19:00 at the Makhado Crossing shopping centre. All kiddies aged 2 to 4 years and 5 to 8 years are invited to enter. The race is sponsored by Bibo, with lots of prizes to be won. All participants will receive a Bibo pack and the fun part is that you do not even need a racing bike to compete. Any bike will do - tricycle or push scooter even!

Registration will take place at the shopping centre on Friday afternoon at the registration points for the main Kremetart Race. Pre-entries can be done at Archers Piant Centre in the Shoprite Centre in Kruger Street. The entry fee is R10 and all monies raised will go towards a children’s charity.

Cycle Centre has donated two Rally BMX bikes, one for each age group, that can be won in a lucky draw. There will also be an open time for all youngsters to "show off" their bike tricks - pop wheelies and do stoppies etc.

"This is going to be a fun and exciting evening and we invite all youngsters between two and eight years to come and take part in the kiddies race and all school-going youngsters to come and show off their talents in the open time," invite the organizers.

"We are expecting a large number of children from other parts of the country who are going to be here with their moms and dads who taking part in the main race on June 9, so let’s get together and show them what Louis Trichardt can do!" they added.
