Chances are now good for Dynamos to take part in the Mvela Golden League platinum play-off matches. This follows their success in the arbitration case between them and the other Limpopo-based side, City Pillars. The case was finalized on Tuesday this week.
The arbitrator ruled in favour of Dynamos in that City Pillars were found guilty and ordered to pay a fine of R20 000, apart from the costs relating to the whole process of arbitration. The arbitrator also ordered that four points be deducted from City Pillars for fielding an improperly registered player, Vacas Ngwenya, in two of their league matches.
The deduction means that City Pillars remain with 44 points in their league account, one behind Dynamos. Winning their case against City Pillars is not good enough to qualify the pride of Giyani for the play-off matches. They will only book a place in the play-offs if they succeed in their pending case against FCAK.
Dynamos have recently lodged a complaint with the league, the basis of which was that FCAK had continued using the players who were already declared free agents by the league. According to the rules and regulations of the league, a player who has been declared a free agent must be re-registered if the club to which he was contracted decides to play him.
The Dynamos´ pending case has resulted in the league postponing the kickoff date for the Mvela Platinum play-offs. According to the original fixture list, City Pillars were supposed to have played against Amazulu in their first-round match at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Amazulu will now play against the winner in the arbitration case between Dynamos and FCAK. According to the PSL general manager, Andrew Dipela, the first-round matches will now be played next week on a date still to be announced.
