Mulondo in Leopards’ colours again

Sport  Date: 27 July 2007

After leaving the Thohoyandou outfit for Orlando Pirates in January this year, Mulondo Sikhwivhilu is back home again. Sikhwivhilu and his co-striker, Rudzani Ramudzuli, were put on the transfer list after failing to find the net on countless occasions.

Although the duo were not performing well at the time when they left Lidoda duvha, it did not take long for them to impress both the supporters and technical staff for Pirates, as scoring seemed to be the easiest thing for them in their new side.

Sikhwivhilu renews his ties with the side for which he played for almost a decade, together with the other former Leopards bulldozer striker, Collins Chabalala. Sikhwivhilu and Chabalala assisted Leopards to gain promotion to the elite league during the 2000/1 season.

The former Leopards players, together with the left midfielder, David Makgale, started training with Leopards on Monday this week. The Leopards’ brand manager, Tshifhiwa Thidiela, confirmed the move, saying they were happy to have the talented players like Sikhwivhilu and Chabalala in their camp again.

He revealed that the trio will help them to achieve their set goals. According to him, the days of fighting for survival are something of the past. He said that they will challenge for more silverware, including the league title come next season.

Leopards are still celebrating their 5-4 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in their Limpopo Challenge Cup match that was played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane a fortnight ago. Lidoda duvha will play against Jomo Cosmos in their Mopani District charity cup match that will be played at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday.
